SEMI (San Jose) said it is switching venues for its SEMICON Europe show, moving to Dresden, Germany, for the Oct. 6-8, 2009, show. This year’s SEMICON Europe, set for Oct. 7-9, will end a short two-year run in Stuttgart, Germany.
Heinz Kundert, president of SEMI Europe (Brussels, Belgium) said the move came “in response to the changing semiconductor manufacturing environment; encouragement from members, exhibitors and attendees; and support from the State of Saxony and City of Dresden.”

Also, Dresden is home to many research institutions, universities and >1200 equipment and materials companies.
The show will be centered at the Dresden Messe. "This venue will foster more efficient industry supply chain interaction and strengthen dialogue between the various stakeholders about competitiveness and the advancement of the European semiconductor industry," Kundert said.
